Birthday Week

This was a busy birthday week for Ellie and I. We wanted to give Nana and Papa special birthdays so we cooked supper for each of them. On Tuesday Ellie helped me make Nana a birthday cake by sitting in her bumpo seat on the island. We had so much fun! Ellie sat in her high chair like a big girl for supper and entertained us through dinner. We also made cake for Papa's birthday on Saturday and enjoyed the company of Wes and Libby as well. Could birthdays get any better?

On Nana's birthday night we also received exciting news that there is to be a new baby Delk to be born. Ellie and I look forward to this and hope that little David and the new Delk will soon move closer to home. We love you guys and miss you. Daddy enjoyed being off with us on Wed. and we all took a big nap that day and recouped from our Birthday fun from the previous day.

Thursday was very exciting. We have recently noticed that Ellie has really gotten to where she needs something more challenging and age appropriate to play with. So Mimi, Ellie, and myself went toy shopping. We had so much fun and I always even as an adult love toy shop. Ellie loves shopping and enjoys sitting like a big girl in her stroller. The lights and sounds of the shops are so thrilling to her. She could look around for a really long time. Can we tell she is a girl?

While shopping we bought a few bath toys. I soon discovered that night that she loves playing with these. They squirt water and Ellie finds this very funny plus they are easy to chew on.

We also bought a jumeroo so that Ellie would start using her legs more. When we put her in this for the first time she looked very perplexed and stressed. She looked at us like we were crazy. Friday night while she was sitting in it Mimi and Papa dropped by to pick something up and she started jumping like crazy and thus it has created Ellie's love for the jumperoo. She is bouncing like crazy. We have had so much fun with this and it has been a great buy.

Ellie's stressed look!

Ellie has continued to amaze us this week. She has really improved on grabbing for things. She also has had a fascination with her tongue and she tries to use it as she talks which is a lot these days. It is so much fun to listen to her talk. We have also been able to feel some sharpness in her top teeth so I am sure we are going to be moving into some interesting territory soon.We look forward to these new milestones in Ellie's life. For those friends and family we do not see often, we want you to know that we love you and miss you and continue to wish you well.

Looks like Ellie is growing up so fast! She is precious. I was wondering about the fascination with shopping... do you think she inherited that gene directly from her mama??? :-) Love you!
